INNOpomorze – Pomerania Center of Innovation in Organization

Nowadays innovativeness of European Union, Poland and Pomorskie Voivodeship isn’t estimated as very high. During last few months many European countries struggle with crisis in public finances, additionally this can cause their current focus around solving financial problems. Increase of innovativeness and competitiveness of EU countries requires determined pro-innovation actions, especially when number of implementations still are not sufficient and cooperation between science and economy environment needs concentrated administrational actions. Quality of relations between companies and between companies and

business institutions also R&D institutions is relevant when speaking about increasing competitiveness of the region. Pro-innovation actions are designed to create notable economic development through increasing number of implementations inter alia owing to closer cooperation business and science environment.

Most of  pro-innovation actions and implemented projects that were undertaken in pomorskie region had en accidental and casual character and didn’t bring any spectacular effects for economy. Especially that were taken by institutions with limited potential of activity, both thematic and territorial. Creating culture of innovations is however long-lasting process, requiring a range of actions and involvement of many subjects whose results can be visible in perspective of several years. Is necessary for pomorskie region to create stable and effective center with clear, defined direction of actions supporting innovative processes.

Self-Government of Pomorskie Voivodeship throughout implementing INNOpomorze Project emphasize the importance and stability of pro-innovational policy. Using this activities builds partners confidence and actions taken by them, particularly those involved in such sensible matters as innovativeness, creativity, entrepreneurship and cooperation of business and science environment.

The experience of the first and second edition of INNOpomorze project showed how important are actions that may, on the one hand raise awareness about the importance of the cooperation in building innovative economy among entrepreneurs, scientists and PhD students, on the other hand facilitate mutual contact of representatives from mentioned environments.

Main objective of the Project:

Creating stable and effective center with clear, defined direction of actions supporting innovative processes.

Specific objectives of the Project:

• Improving the competence of the regional managers in innovative processes and leaders of cluster structures
• Professionalization of pro-innovative actions in the enterprises
• Increasing the number of research work considering regional economy demands
• Intensification of cooperation directed on implementations between representatives from business and science
